RABAF uses a unique approach to giving and investing so every contribution creates the greatest possible impact both now and in the future.

Through Recoverable Grants and Program-Related Investments, we support self sustaining projects with full transparency on how funds are used. When these projects succeed, the funds come back to the foundation and are invested again into new initiatives. This creates a multiplying effect for every contribution.

Through Mission-Related Investments, we put our entire endowment to work by supporting ideas that create real change while also generating returns. These returns allow the foundation to grow and support even more work over time. It is a way for a small foundation to steadily expand its impact while addressing serious educational challenges in developing countries.

In simple terms, we act like a nonprofit that uses the tools of venture investing to spark and scale meaningful progress in education.
